Our mental well-being is directly connected with our overall physical health. In certain instances, prescribed medicines are an important and effective part of the treatment of many mental illnesses to include depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, panic, sleep problems, attention deficit disorder and several other disorders. Our agency provides assessments and evaluations to make determinations about the appropriateness, efficiency, and effectiveness of the prescribed medications. Follow up client appointments concentrate on a review of symptoms, discussion of side effects, and a brief mental status examination.

Group Therapy

Social interaction that builds confidence...

Group therapy is a cost efficient mechanism that provides multiple benefits to clients.  Individuals receive support and insight from others that may have experienced similar challenges. Persons that attend group sessions learn more about themselves and find confidence to deal with life's challenges. They also develop social skills that helps them to re-engage with people.

Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)

Assertive Community Treatment also known as ACT is an intensive community-based program for individuals ages 18 to 65. ACT is an interdisciplinary program of assessment, service planning, and intervention. ACT involves a multi-disciplinary team that typically is made up of a team leader, a psychiatrist, social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, substance abuse specialists, educational specialists, employment specialists, and peer support specialists (made up of persons that have had success with the ACT recovery process).

ACT is a “one-stop” approach that takes ultimate professional responsibility for the participants' well-being in all areas of community functioning by providing a comprehensive array of services for every participant and ensuring clear staff-to-staff communication through such measures as daily team meetings to review the previous 24-hour (or weekend) period and plan for the coming period.
The explicit mission of ACT is to promote the participant's independence, rehabilitation, community integration, and recovery through assertive and responsive interventions to prevent unnecessary hospitalizations, homelessness, incarceration, and other negative outcomes. ACT services can be mobile, provided in the home, but mostly done in a community setting. ACT is provided 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
